Homeoprophylaxis: correction to the old fact sheet
The earlier fact sheet overstated what homeopathic preparations could prevent.
The claim under review
The original fact sheet called homeopathic immunisation safe and effective across a range of childhood and epidemic diseases. A list of claimed uses is not evidence of protection against each infection. The page also offered self-prescribing instructions. Those promises and instructions have been withdrawn from this public version.
What would establish prevention?
A prevention claim needs clearly defined infections, comparable exposure, a suitable control group and transparent reporting of outcomes. Changes in case counts can reflect how people were tested or which other measures were introduced. A testimonial, an uncontrolled outbreak report or an animal experiment cannot settle the practical question of whether a reader is protected.
Use current prevention guidance
Homeopathic preparations do not replace vaccination. Use the Australian Immunisation Handbook and a qualified clinician for prevention decisions. Do not delay testing, post-exposure care or treatment while trying an archived remedy.
